A Record-Setting,
Barrier-Breaking
World First
When searching on Google for the Cairo to Cape Town women’s world record, Tegan was met with no answers. Why? Because no female cyclist has ever done this before.
The Google search results only show records for men cycling from Cairo to Cape Town, which have been broken multiple times in the last decade. On 2 March, 2015, South African cyclist Keegan Longueira set the record for cycling from Cairo to Cape Town in 59 days, 8 hours and 30 minutes. That same year on 21 May, British cyclist Mark Beaumont finished the route in 41 days, 10 hours, and 22 minutes breaking the record.
To date, the Guinness World Record for women cycling from Cairo to Cape Town has not been set.
However, that’s all about to change.
In October 2022, Tegan will start her epic adventure of cycling from Cairo to Cape Town. Her goal is to set the Guinness World Record as the first and fastest woman to ever do it! The journey spans across 8 countries, including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa.
